About us

Avalon Kennels, Reg. was established in the mid 1990's as a small hobby kennel with a specific interest in breeding and showing Boxers and Smooth Fox Terriers. To date, over 50 champions have been bred and/or owned between these two wonderful breeds – several of which have gone on to become multiple All-Breed Best In Show winners in both the United States and abroad.  Avalon’s goal is to continually strive for excellence in health, conformation and temperament, and work very hard to keep up with the advances being made in health research/testing and nutrition. This, along with careful puppy placement is designed to give each dog bred under the Avalon prefix the best opportunity for a long, happy and healthy life.   

It is important to say that the success of Avalon Kennels relies on more than our own knowledge and dedication to these two breeds.  We feel strongly that it should be the goal of all dedicated breeders to strive to preserve breed type and acknowledge that our own successes are due in large part to the hard work of those who have come before us.   This endeavor is a joint effort between us and our friends and co-breeders, for without their combined contribution, it would be impossible to accomplish all that we have and hope to do in the future.
